I offer a tiered payment to increase accessibility. I donate 10% of the revenue to a local organization to support mutual aid. Previous donations include Eastern Band of the Cherokee and Liberation Wellness Network.

Moving Through Addiction to Liberation: Liberation Psychology in Substance Use Treatment

In this training, instructor will cover the tenets of liberation psychology, intersectionality, and ways to incorporate these tenets in substance use treatment. Participants will learn about the history of liberation psychology and important interventions used in liberation psychology. Instructor will facilitate discussion related to oppression in substance use treatment and how liberation psychology can address this oppression. Instructor will invite participants to think critically about the current structure of substance use treatment and how liberation psychology can shift this structure. Participants will have the opportunity to practice integrating liberation psychology into their current practice.
Objectives include: Discussing elements of liberation psychology, applying liberation psychology and intersectionality to substance use treatment, tangible interventions clinician can implement to incorporate liberation psychology into substance use therapy.

Clinical Supervision Institute
This interactive, didactic training covers topics including different supervisory techniques and theories, cultural humility in supervision, and specifics about the requirements of supervisors for the NCBLCMHC and the NCASPPB.
Objectives include: Discussing legal and ethical aspects of supervision, learn about requirements for licensure, explore models of supervision, develop supervisory skills through peer interaction.
If you attend all the training sessions, you will gain all 45 hours needed for the LCMHCS credential. You can also attend individual sessions to gain the amount of CEs you need.

This is a very poignant topic because of the recent Supreme Court decision about conversion therapy. This training is for anyone interested in learning about conversion therapy, including parents, clergy members, community leaders, school staff, teachers, etc. Below are the prices. Oppressive Healing:
Counselors and the 1619 Project
This training is on anti-oppressive psychology through the concepts within Nikole Hannah-Jones's 1619 Project. For each session, we will discuss 2 episodes of the 1619 Project documentary and connect it with anti-oppressive counseling. This training will happen over 4 meetings, the first two are April 24 and May 15 from 9-12:15pm at Thrive Therapy in Boone at 184 N Water St., Suite 2 (second floor). For the first session (April 24), we will discuss episodes 1 and 2 of the documentary, which is available on Disney+ and Hulu.
Each session is limited to 8 people. You do not have to commit to all 4 sessions, attend as many as you want/can. You will get 3 NBCC CE credits for each session.
